Business and Seller Calculators

Marketplace and payment fees are quoted as small percentages and compound into something much larger by the time a sale settles. These calculators use published fee schedules and show the version and date they were taken from.

Margin tells you whether a product works. Break-even tells you whether the business does. They use the same numbers and answer different questions, and neither is safe to look at alone.

  1. Profit marginWork out profit per unit and margin after product cost, shipping, packaging, platform fees, and payment processing — with markup shown alongside.
  2. Break-evenWork out how many units you need to sell to cover fixed costs, with platform and payment fees counted in the variable cost of each sale.

How these estimates are built

Marketplace and payment fees are taken from published fee schedules, with the version and the date they were read shown on every result. Fees change without notice and often without announcement, so the date matters as much as the number.

Where no public agency publishes what a calculation needs, we say so plainly and label the figure as an assumption rather than dressing it up as sourced. Every result shows its own provenance, and our full method is documented.
